An Alternative Detox Diet

The detox diet is one of the most effective and safest ways to lose weight and cleanse the body with the supervision of a medical professional. Because the detox diet plan is not accepted by a lot of experts, there are many dieticians who are coming up with their own mix of ingredients.

The basic and oldest detox diet plan consists exclusively of fruits and water. Because of the components of this diet, and the restrictions to the type of fruit that one should eat during a specific time of the day, a lot of people find it hard to stick to the program. In addition to this, eating only fruits and water does not give you all the nutrients that you need on a daily basis.

Below are some of the recommended components of an alternative detox diet which is also safe and is more enjoyable to mix and match:

Fruits – a good detox diet should contain not only citrus fruits, but almost all kinds of fruits that you like. It could also be a choice of natural canned fruits, dried fruits, frozen fruits and fresh fruits. You can choose between star fruit, melon, peach, nectarine, currant, raspberry, strawberry, kiwi fruit, mango, pineapple, rasins, sultana, grapefruit, orange, pear, banana, and apple. In addition to this, you can also include fresh fruit juice, homemade juice, ready-made juices or smoothies in your detox diet.

Vegetables are also good to mix and match in your daily detox diet. Vegetables are good sources of nutrients which are needed by the body. They are also perfect substitutes for meat. Some of the recommended vegetables for your daily diet include spring onions, cucumber, tomatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, leeks, peppers, sweet corn, mushrooms, cabbage, sprouts, turnip, onions and carrots. The choice of vegetables that you can include in your detox diet could also be canned, frozen or fresh.
